Booked in for a Hen Party with a difference, our team accepted the challenge, packed up the cars and headed over to The Didsbury Pub where our hen Eleanor had a fun filled, action packed day planned in the upstairs room for her long awaited hen party. This was a large job comprising of 15 hens and I was aware the client journey had to be smooth, so three of us attended to pamper and polish.

I must admit what a wonderful idea! This just goes to show, when you are planning and event like this a little creativity goes a long way and our hats firmly flew off to the chief bridesmaid who had thought of every detail. There is nowhere the CLB events team can’t work, casting my mind back to venues such as Capesthorne Hall and the busy nail tent, with music from the main stage blaring, as we performed Indian head massages and provided a pop up nail bar.

This was a new location for the team, and on arrival we were greeted warmly by the pub manager and directed upstairs to set up our equipment. There is always something very special for us when we work in Didsbury, a feeling of coming home and the pub did not let us down. Didsbury has a unique atmosphere you can’t re-create elsewhere and this time was no exception. The atmosphere was buzzing.

The room had been decorated beautifully with the buffet bar in the corner (all The Didsbury cuisine of course) and an easy, clear space for myself, Kerry and Amanda to set up our equipment.

The way we like to structure our hen parties of this size, is to assign each therapist to one particular treatment and stick to the column. I was assigned to the nail bar, Kerry pedicures and Amanda massage and Indian Head…which looked so enjoyable and relaxing. The hens really enjoyed the head massages – but we decided to avoid oil in the hair as they were heading out that evening.

The nail bar was kitted out with our usual CND Vinylux polishes and for the massages we like to blend our own oils, so wonderful scents of lavender, orange, rosewood and a hint of ylang, ylang filled the room.

The day ran with ease and as we worked the hens ate, drank and played party games. The classic ‘Mr & Mrs’ was played and it was wonderful to see everyone having such a nice time. The Didsbury were incredibly generous towards us and ensured we were fed and watered throughout the day with complementary coffee and sparkling water at our disposal.

The ladies loved their nails and aside from the odd smudge and knock they were good to go and all ready to face the evening ahead. Kerry and Amanda worked to time and it made me think how lucky I am to have such a great team to rely on. The CLB events team always pull out the stops and I am blessed to have therapists with such experience and passion for attention to detail.

As we began to wind things down, Eleanor thanked myself and the team for making her party so memorable. She informed me that everyone had thoroughly enjoyed the experience and they felt totally relaxed and pampered, good job done.

We wish you all the best for your wedding day Eleanor!
